An unusual view of Venice, as rendered by Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis in his Kitab-i Bahriye, The Book of the Sea, a collection of charts and sailing directions. The work was first published in 1521, and revised in 1524 with additional information and better-crafted charts in order to be presented as a gift to Sultan Suleiman I.
